Perfect!

Just perfect!

Money taker... Disappointing

At first glance the game was great, but all updates with new classes, items and regions you have to pay. This is really dissapointing. The game is a money taker... I regret having bought it.

Doesnt work with iPhone 6 Plus

Funktioniert nicht richtig mit iPhone 6 Plus.

cannot access fighter profiles

cannot equip weapons for my fighters nor is there a tab to access profile and get out of it. the game is buggy for me. as for the rest, i think it is fairly decent story wise. 1 star until i can have a fix for profile tab

Very good game overall

I completed the game and had a great time. Here are a few observations: 1) I used the middle difficulty where characters deaths are not permanent but the combat are not trivial. I felt my choice was a good one for me. 2) Some characters are much more powerfull than other : Marauders, Shadow warrior, Gray wizard and bright wizard all felt a lot more powerful than troll slayer, ogre, archmage and the other dwarf. Warrior priest is plain useless and I did not try/buy the which hunter. 3) The AI is ok but I would suggest a few minor improvements: For example, Currently if an enemy warrior is adjacent to two of your character it choose randomly what to hit and this even if one of your character have 1 hp left. I would suggest make it a bit smart and go for the kill when it can. 4) The dungeon and battles are balanced and among the various enemies the vampire (especially the lord types) are the more challenging. I felt that I had to think in some fights and this is what make games fun ( to me at least) 5) Equipment is important and spending some time to do quests to improve your gear is a key to success 6) The levelling system is random and even the ability gained at each level are random. This cause two problems : First, it can make your character less usable, for example if your Gray wizard have 4 heals and no offensive spells, its utility will be very low. The second problem is a lot more worse as it can plain destroy your character. For example, should your dwarfs gains the ability "enrage" or "berserk" this actually make them a lot less usable. On levelling, you can shut down the game if you dont like the ability gained but it would be simpler to let the player choose what ability he gains. 7) I bought both expansions, the additional enemies packs and 3 additional classes. This gave me a solid 65 hours of fun game time. I did not buy gold and It did not slowed me to much although some of my characters could not level for a few dungeons. ( Some dungeon reward you more generously so make sure to make a few runs on those to get some coins). I did not buy any gear and did not feel the need for it. Overall, I give it 4 stars and will buy any expansion they make.

Great game, puzzling app experience;

The core of the game: tactical close-quarters combat is well executed. The difficulty is somewhat steep, with more ways to get hurt than helped by the game world, but thats really the Warhammer universe. Furthermore, with a bit of grinding your party will be in good shape. While nominally a tactical RPG, character development is on-rails and story is adequate only to move things along to the next dungeon battle. All told, its a great, lean dish with not much meat. But its not just a game - its an app. And thats where things unravel a bit. First off, iCloud syncing and universal cross-device play are baked in and exemplary of what every iOs game should offer. The app store ecosystem shouldnt tolerate games like Oceanhorn that do not offer this. However, the app store is also an environment where triple-A titles like X-Com top out at $20.00. While the core gameplay on this title is solid, its also thin on content (youll fight the same goblin-orc horde over and over). So if you do get into it, it wont be long before youre eyeing the $40.00+ of additional content. Thats right, there is $21.00 of added player-characters, $10.00 of new dungeons, and $10.00+ of equipment and new enemy combatants. So how do you parse that? You wouldnt bat an eye at $40.00 for a console game. Then again, for its virtues, this is still no Skyrim or Last Of Us. So while Im enjoying the core content, I predict A) Ill tire of fighting the same battles over and over, and B) I wont feel like dropping twice the price of X-Com to unlock the rest of it, so itll get the boot from my device and Ill move on. Your mileage will vary.

Very nice game, but In app too expensive

The game is awesome, but If I want a full game (all in app), it cost me a fortune. I could pay 20$ to have a full game, but for now its too expensive, I wait for a full package.

Undead

Dont buy the undead package. They made no, and I mean absolutely no effort into balancing it. Its impossible to beat. How can a second level party beat two vampires and a necromancer and ten skeleton? Answer, the game is unplayable.

Repetitive, expensive, unbalanced...

- Game Play; You see one dungeon, youve seen them all in this very short game (unless you want to pay for overpriced IAP). The dungeons are repetitive with only a few types of enemies to fight (see $$ IAP) making it hard to not get bored quickly. Since dungeons and fights with the same limited creatures are all there is, its hard to rate it this highly on content. The story line is simple to follow with little thought needed and the game mechanics are a breeze with little learning curve. A LOT of side quests will be needed to make enough gold to build characters after the first few levels because gold is scarce for levelling and purchases(see $$ IAP). - Characters; 4 character choices, for 4 character slots (see $$ IAP) - Graphics; The graphics in the game are pretty good, though they get old and lose lustre quickly with the frustration of limited game play. It would have been nice to see a 3D environment, rather than a top down one. The cutscenes when entering towns were well done - IAP; Games Workshop has never been known for low prices. At present the IAPs total over $40! Include the initial purchase and users can expect to drop around $50 for full content. That doesnt include the option to purchase gold each time you come up short, and that will happen a lot. The initial content is so limited that it almost seems like youre being pushed into the IAP menu. Its console price for a poor phone/tablet product. - Overview; I expected more from RodeoGames. I enjoyed the Hunters series, but this doesnt even come close. Previous games by these Devs havent even come remotely close to the IAPs in this App. Maybe pairing with Games Workshop for this title was a mistake and they would have done better with an independent fantasy version of Hunters.

Polished but frustrating

Everything costs $$ just to progress at a reasonable pace. I like these strategy games but not when youre nickel and dimed to death just to stay alive.

Awesome

Having a very good time with it, if your a fantasy fan you will love it

Great lil title

This dose not feel like playing warhammer, feels more like d&d, but with out all the bs of dice stats, hold on *rolls dice* yup is good game.

too bad

This game could have been awesome. The dungeons are all the same and the game will pretty much end for you at level 6 unless you are willing to keep paying for each new section of yhe game. The game corners you in with regions you cant visit and items for classes that you have to buy. 5$ for each region and 3$ for each character. If they wanted $25 for an Iphone game why didnt tell me up front. #sendusyourcash #disapointed

Terrible

It was terrible. I played for one minute. Everything cost real money. Cash cow!!!!!

Its fun, but....

Its fun, but it keeps crashing for my ipod 4th gen..... Please fix!

...

Fun game but bugs everytime semone dies...

Hella fun!

Ive been playing this game for a week now, and its been an absolute blast. each battle tests you strategically and the loot feels very satisfying. also the map is huuugee with tonnes of dungeons everywhere

look bad

game turn base is nothing new. graphic is not very good. maybe 15 years ago. game frozen 2-4min into gameplay. cant move or press anything. so much in game purchases. this look like one of those pay to win game out there. uninstalled.

Fantastic App

GW games always seem to be very well developed, and strategically advanced for all ages alike. Great game, already addicted. Can certainly see why it has earned itself App Of The Week.

More love needed

Update: Now 2 stars. Max 6 levels? what a joke. Ill just buy the expansion and new characters so i can effectively start over again... Rodeo, start taking more than the first 1/2 of your games seriously. I love this style of game, but the random events and battles are half assed. For $5 Im ok with the engine and limited gameplay but those random events do more harm than good. I just lost a big boss battle because within 5 moves no less than 2 random battles occurred. Its cheap. You cant plan or defend against random battles. At first I thought they were timed, planned monsters that would spawn as part of a staged battle. Nope, its all random and all cheap. I think I would actually ask for my money back if I could. Rodeo! Im not buying IAP if it just tosses more meaningless garbage into this random engine of yours! It would be meaningless when the battles are cheap, not satisfying. Get back to making that 3rd Space Marine game. Theres a story there that needs to be told through top down strategy game play!
